Mother Dog has been desexed

We are excited to report that the mother of our Ankara puppies has been desexed! This female dog gave birth to a litter of ten puppies in an Ankara park at the start of spring. She has since proven difficult to catch. Working with municipality officials we were able to catch her by administering sedation using a dart gun. As part of their existing program, the local authorities desexed and vaccinated her for rabies. Sebnem and her husband then visited her after surgery and organised her return to the neighbourhood. She now has a tag in her ear indicating that she has been desexed and vaccinated for rabies. When returned to the park she settled straight back in and started to eat the food that was provided.

The puppies have received their rabies vaccination and the females

are getting closer to a suitable age to be desexed.
